Aotearoa Music Awards Nomination!

It's been a few years now since 2017 when Little Wild Lullabies was stood up in this category at the NZ Children's Music Awards so I am genuinely thrilled to write that I'm a finalist again this year for 2023's Ngā Manu Tīrairaka | Children's Music Awards! The category is Recorded Music NZ Te Kaipuoro Waiata Tamariki Toa / Best Children’s Artist. Being part of it alongside my mates Itty Bitty Beats and Levity Beet Music is incredible.

I submitted for my latest album Sing for the Earth ~ Little Wild Animals 🦥🦇🐛🦩🌏🦁 though as my friends will know, 2022 was a double double album year.  Maybe I should be looking into ways to actually print the albums properly for posterity soon  - I have been thinking laterally about how to achieve this in a sustainable and affordable way. I'm so glad of the chance I had to work with colleagues Elise De Silva (illustration) Tom Fox (music production) and my sister Melissa Gunn (writing for the songbooks).

Check out all the nominees  here... We are building a connected and supportive community here in Aotearoa's network of artists creating for tamariki and I'm super glad to be part of it!
