I went walking in the springtime
And I saw the trees in bloom
Daffodils all pushing through

Everywhere new beginnings
Lambs born, birds a singin
Feathering their nests
Shaking off their winter rest

Sweetpea scent in my nose
Long days, sweet strawberries
and cicadas
Apples on a bough,
Cherries red ready now

I went walking in the autumn
And I felt the crispness in the air
That crackled like a misty prayer
Leaf bonfires red and gold
Birds fly for tropic shoals
Rosehips, harvest fairs
And spider webs

And I smelt the fall of snow
Sprinkling its frosty glow
Ice skates round my neck
Ready for adventure yet
Coat scarf gloves hat
