When I was small I had an apple seed and my mama told me
To dig a little hole and water it well and little by little it grew
I was crouching down when I saw a tiny leaf

I saw one - I saw two, I kept on going like mama said to
I saw 5 leaves I saw ten, when I got to twenty had to count again
I was balancing on tiptoe counting all those little leaves

Years went by and I kept on, my apple tree grew with water and sun
An apple tree tall, taller than me, standing proud like a friend should be
