There is a garden
That doesn’t need watering
Cos it’s under the sea
Down where the clownfish
Hide in their anemones
In the coral reef

Reef gardens grow
Zooxanthellae they glow
It forms a place
For thousands upon thousand
Lifeforms to call home

Corals are animals not plants
Together in a coral colony
By the light of the full moon
Coral polyps spawn in synchrony
Corals can also clone themselves in buds
To start new colonies

Coral reefs take thousands
And thousands of years to form
So coral gardeners around the world
Are diving and seeding the nurseries
To keep corals living on

So here is the garden
That doesn’t need watering

It only takes sunlight
Time and community
To build a coral reef
